Series` background and format
Celebrity MasterChef is a British competitive reality cooking program that is a part of the hit MasterChef franchise, which also includes the original MasterChef, MasterChef: The Professionals and MasterChef Junior, along with numerous international adaptations. The series was originally screened on BBC One from 2006 to 2011, and was subsequently moved to BBC due to low ratings, but in 2013 returned to BBC One in prime time.
The series is executive produced by Elizabeth Murdoch, Franc Roddam, Mirella Breda, Carla-Maria Lawson and Gilly Hall, and produced by Shine TV and Ziji Productions. Each series of Celebrity MasterChef features 20 celebrities who are competing for the coveted title. Among the participants this season are Jimmy Osmond, Sid Owen, Gelb Savchenko, Laila Morse, Donna Air, Liz Johnson, Amelle Berrabah, Alexis Conran, Tommy Cannon, Simon Webbs, Sinita and many others.
Current season and renewal potential
The current eleventh series of Celebrity MasterChef has premiered on June 22, 2016 with a 12-episode order, just like the preceding chapter. Gregg Wallace and John Torode returned as the judges, and India Fisher as the narrator. The series is not as popular as the original MasterChef, but it has a solid audience and a reasonable 6.3/10 IMDb score. No announcements have been made regarding either a renewal or cancelation of Celebrity MasterChef reality series, so please stay tuned and we will keep you informed of its status.
