Storyline and cast

Ray Donovan is a criminal and family drama television series that airs on Showtime in the United States. The show`s fourth season debuted on June 26, 2016. It is executive produced by Bryan Zuriff, Mark Gordon and Ann Biderman, and produced by The Mark Gordon Company, Ann Biderman Co., Bider Sweet Productions and Showtime Networks. Each of the seasons contains 12 episodes.

At the heart of the storyline is Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber), an Irish-American from South Boston who works for an LA law firm. He acts as a liaison between the respectable firm and the criminal world, fixing bribes, arranging payoffs, delivering threats, and conducting other shady business. When his father Mickey (Jon Voight) is released from prison, Ray has a whole new set of problems to deal with, including being hunted by the FBI.

Excellent reviews and chances of renewal

Over the last three seasons the series has averaged between 1 and 1.5 million viewers per episode. Averaging approximately 1.2 million viewers for the first three episodes, the current fourth season fits right into the trend. The Showtime original criminal drama has an 8.3/10 IMDb rating, and has been repeatedly compared to The Sopranos because of the superb quality of all of its elements – acting, writing, direction, cinematography. No news regarding a fifth season of this solid hit have been revealed yet, but considering the 5 Emmy nominations that the show`s received on July 14, 2016 it would be insane to assume that Showtime will cancel this popular series. Stay tuned, and we`ll make sure that you don`t miss any relevant news.
