Series storyline and info

Wasted is a British sitcom series airing on E4 since July 19, 2016. The show is comprised of 8 episodes and is created and written by James Lamont and Jon Foster. It is executive produced by John O’Callaghan and Richard Osborne and hails from Angel Eye Productions.

The show is centered around four twenty-something friends wasting their lives in a West Country village. Nerdy Morpheus (Danny Kirrane) and his sister Sarah (Rose Reynolds), who utterly lacks ambition, run a souvenir shop with a mystical touch. His slacker friend Kent (Dylan Edwards) saves money on rent by staying with them for free, and Alison (Gwyneth Keyworth) is a self-proclaimed New Age healer who runs her business out of their shop and Kent’s secret crush. The surreal bits are mixed into the storyline where a mystical stranger appears to change our characters’ lives forever. Tom Canton as Holy Man/Chris and Sean Bean as himself round out the main cast.

Ratings and renewal prospects

The amiable group of losers that Wasted centers on has gained a following, but the sitcom is not particularly impressive ratings-wise. The mix of sweetness and crudeness, irreverent attitude, riotous irreverences and the performances are praised, yet the script has come under heavy criticism for being uninventive and unoriginal. IMDb has granted the show an 8/10 score, denoting positive viewer reception. There has been no word from E4 on a potential renewal of Wasted for another series of stoner fun, so please stay tuned and we’ll let you know as soon as a decision is made.
