Summary and plot

Transformers: Robots in Disguise is an American animated TV series that is a sequel to Transformers: Prime. Following the events of Redacons Rising, Transformers: Robots in Disguise Season 1 premiered on Cartoon Network on March 14, 2015. The second season was released on February 20, 2016.

Optimus Prime is thought to be dead after restoring Cybertron, Bumblebee serves as a Cybertronian police officer, and the genesis has brought forth great prosperity to the new generation of Transformers. All this changes when Optimus Prime turns up to be alive and summons Bumblebee to return to Earth and save it from a new threat. When Bumblebee makes it to our planet, he learns that a maximum security ship has crashed and several hundred Decepticon prisoners have escaped, now posing a real threat to the earthlings. Will Bumblebee be able to lead his team to victory and save our planet? Or will Earth fall into darkness? Bumblebee and his Autobots crew make a comeback in the second season along with other fan favorites, and are stronger and more confident than ever.

Current season, ratings and renewal chances

This series is a fun and action packed show for children and adults alike. It’s not a secret how popular any Transformers series or movies are throughout the world, so it’s not surprising that Robots in Disguise scores 6.4 out of 10 on IMDb. The first season viewership ranged from 600,000 to 1 million viewers per episode. The second run of Transformers: Robots in Disguise is shorter than the previous one – 19 vs. 26 episodes. A full-length TV movie is tentatively planned to follow the second season instead of a third season, and further plans will apparently depend on the ratings success of the upcoming broadcast.
