This article has the most up-to-date info on the status of Second Chance season 2 as we continuously monitor the news to keep you in the know. Unfortunately, FOX has officially canceled the series. There will be no season 2.

Series information and concept
Second Chance is a new American science fiction and criminal drama television series that premiered on Fox on January 13, 2016. The premiere episode debuted on December 25, 2015 on demand prior to the network premiere. The series was created by Rand Ravich and produced by Teakwood Lane Productions, Kara Inc., and 20th Century Fox Television.
Jimmy Pritchard (Robert Kazinsky), a corrupt 75-year-old ex-sheriff is brought back to life after being murdered in his son Duval`s (Tim DeKay) home. The brilliant billionaire twins, Mary (Dilshad Vadsaria) and Otto Goodwin (Adhir Kalyan) not only give him another chance at life, but rejuvenate and endow him with superhuman strength and excellent memory. He is now faced with the need to make a choice between pursuing a new purpose in his new life or falling prey to the same things that tempted him prior to his unlikely resurrection.
Current season and renewal prospects
The series debuted to 4.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, quickly slipping 16.2% in the second week to 3.75 million viewers and a 1.0 rating. Starting with the third episode Second Chance was moved to Fridays from its Wednesday time slot, which is often ominous of a cancelation. The third episode that aired on January 29, 2016 slid to 2.22 million viewers and a 0.7 rating. The reviews have been mixed, but many viewers see potential in the series. Although the situation may always turn around, as of the moment the series doesn`t seem to have much of a chance at a renewal.
Season 1 finale recap
The final episode of the debut installment of Second Chance was aired on March 25th and it attracted just a little over 2 million viewers, bringing the average viewership of the season to just shy of 2.5 million. As many viewers noted, the series continued to improve with each episode, and now many fans are hoping that the network gives the show a second chance when even the title of the series asks for it. As Pritchard and Duval did their best to save Gracie, Pritchard himself was running out of time as there was no tank for him to regenerate in. Now, with one main character dead and a possible new storyline introduced, the fans of the show eagerly await a positive decision from the network.
Latest show
UPDATED May 14, 2016: Well, it is unfortunate and ironic, but the Fox network has made a decision not to give a second chance to its newest sci-fi drama series Second Chance. The show was axed after just one run. The cancellation move was motivated by rather modest ratings of the freshman series: an 11-part debut installment has attracted an average viewership of just 2.4 million households per episode. The sad news was also confirmed by the show’s star Robert Kazinsky on his personal Twitter page. There is always a chance, although rather slim in this case, that another network will decide to revive the series, so stay tuned.
