Storyline and cast

Created by Ian Hollands, You, Me and the Apocalypse is a British-American science fiction comedy television series that follows the lives of seemingly unconnected characters around the world as they struggle to survive in an apocalyptic chaos. Starring Rob Lowe, Jenna Fischer, Megan Mullally and Mathew Baynton, the first season of the series premiered on Sky 1 on September 30, 2015 and will soon become NBC’s mid-season entry.

What do a rebellious priest, a white supremacist, a mediocre bank manager, a cyber terrorist and an American general have in common? That’s right, a comet that is headed for Earth and is about to destroy all mankind. In this series, they all try to make it to a bunker beneath the English suburb of Slough, thus, causing a hilarious and unexpected chain of events.

Holland’s brilliant script and the stellar cast of these transatlantic stars make this series definitely worth watching. So far, the show has enjoyed very favorable reviews and has been highly acclaimed by the critics. With the end of the world near, the drama is definitely there, and each member of the cast has all the background in comedy that is necessary to make the viewer laugh uncontrollably. As such, we are sure to see You, Me and the Apocalypse Season 2 air sometime next year.

Updated March 10, 2016: Unfortunately for the fans, the British/American sci-fi dramedy You, Me and the Apocalypse was canceled in a joint decision by Sky1 and NBC. The only series that aired opened to over 5 million viewers and lost 2 million over the course of the season. In spite of the positive reviews, excellent scores on review aggregator websites and an audience eagerly awaiting the post-apocalyptic continuation of the story following the season one finale where the meteor hits the Earth, the series will not be picked up for renewal.
