About the show
Groundbreaking weekly political documentary series Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth has premiered on Showtime on January 17, 2016. The real-time documentary series will provide behind the scenes coverage of the current presidential campaign. Besides delivering the information, the hosts will look behind the headlines and analyze the underlying motivations and potential consequences of various campaign events.
The show features Bloomberg Politics managing editors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, and Mark McKinnon, a campaign strategist and media advisor. The series is produced by Left/Right (A part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group) in cooperation with Bloomberg Politics, and created and executive produced by Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, Banks Tarver, Scott Boggins and Ken Druckerman. The 2016 US presidential elections are going to be extremely important and consequential, so this scrupulous non-partisan account of the race for the Oval Office should prove informative and interesting. The series is set to run until the November elections.
Reviews and possible renewal
The series has not been extensively reviewed on review aggregator websites, but it does have an 8.8/10 rating on IMDb, based on 12 reviews. Considering the subject matter, there isn`t likely to be a renewal of this series per se, since there isn`t going to be an event as important as the presidential elections for some time. However, the show might morph into some other format and cover political events in a unique way.
