Series info and storyline

Hunderby is a critically acclaimed British sitcom created b Julia Davis, co-written by Julia Davis and Barunka O`Shaughnessy, and stars Julia Davis. The first series premiered on Sky Atlantic in 2012, and the second part, consisting of two 2-hour specials, was released on December 10, 2015.

The series is a subversive and an intricately dark parody of period dramas. The unwelcoming housekeeper Dorothy (Julia Davis) is very suspicious, and schemes to get rid of Helene.

Current season and renewal prospects

This is just the rough sketch of a storyline that doesn`t provide any idea of how deliciously funny and grotesquely malicious the series is. It`s been a critics` darling from the start, and did not disappoint the fans in the second run. It`s already being called a cult favorite, and has won the prestigious Best Writer: Comedy BAFTA TV Award in 2013 as well as the Best Sitcom and Best New Comedy Programme Award at British Comedy Awards in 2012. The ratings have been good for Sky, as the first series was the network`s second highest-rated program of the week with over 200 000 viewers for series` premiere and finale. The ratings and excellent reviews all point to a bright future for this twisted black comedy. Hopefully, Sky will make a positive decision and renew the show for another series so that the fans can enjoy more of this brilliant sitcom.
