Season 1 recap
NBC`s summer variety show Maya and Marty has concluded its 6-episode freshman season on July 12, 2016. The final episode drew the smallest audience of the season, with 3.94 million viewers tuning into the party with Steve Martin, Sean Hayes, Kelly Ripa and Emma Stone present. There was everything from comedy sketches to a cappella singing and, of course, dancing, and the star guests showed off their versatility to the sheer delight of the hosts and the audience. The freshman season ratings were decent for a summer program – a 1.17 demo rating and almost 4.8 million viewers per episode. Both Maya Rudolph and Martin Short expressed their desire to go on with the show in a recent interview, so it is now up to NBC to make a decision and either renew or cancel the program. Stay tuned, and let`s wait for a network announcement.
