Series` storyline and cast
A Danish financial crime thriller television series, Follow the Money has originally premiered in Denmark in January 2016, and has since been broadcast in the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium and Australia. It has premiered on CBC in Canada on June 18, 2016. Follow the Money was created by Jeppe Gjervig Gram, executive produced by Piv Bernth and is produced by Danmark`s Radio. The first season of the series contains 10 episodes.
The series revolves around Energreen, a renewable energy company that turns out to be the center of a serious conspiracy. A policeman attempts to investigate suspicious activity, a female employee accidentally discovers a secret that may be a key to something very important, a mechanic who is drawn into a car theft network, but accidentally becomes a part of something far greater… The cast includes Thomas Bo Larsen, Thomas Hwan, Natalie Madueño, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Esben Smed Jensen, Lucas Hansen and Julie Grundtvig Wester.
Reception and possible renewal
The show has a 7.4/10 IMDb score, and has been a success during its numerous international broadcasts. Corruption, corporate greed and murder incorporated into the trendy ecological green energy industry setting have found resonance with today`s audience. The characters are compelling, the storyline intricate, and the only frequent complaint is the lack of energy and dynamics in the pacing of the series.
