Storyline and cast

How to Get Away with Murder is an American drama television series created by Peter Nowalk and produced by Shonda Rhimes for ABC Studios. The series follows Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a criminal defense attorney and law professor at a prestigious university in Philadelphia, who becomes involved in a murder plot with five of her students. Season 3 of the series premiered on ABC on September 24, 2016.

This series explores the work of Annalise and her interns through a series of flashbacks. In the first season, the viewer witnesses two murders: that of Annalise’s husband, Sam, and his mistress, Lila. Keating convinces her interns to cover up the murder of the husband and come up with evidence to legally implicate Sam in Lila’s murder. The flashbacks make the series quite gripping to watch and keep the viewers on their feet until the end of the season.

Season 2 returns with the interns pretending like nothing ever happened and continue their work as future legal professionals. Of course, that’s easier said than done. They say “once a cheat, always a cheat”, a saying that can be related to murderers and those who cover up for them.

The series has received critical acclaim and won several awards, including an Emmy and a Critics’ Choice. Reviews from viewers are also very positive, with the show rating at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. With such a track record, we will definitely see How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 in 2016, although, there has not been any news on the fact so far.

As it was very much expected, there was a lot of drama and crazy plot twists in the final episode of season 2 of ABC network’s hit legal and crime drama series How to Get Away with Murder. According to the creator of the show, Peter Nowalk, he has learned the tricks of the trade from his experienced and savvy boss and series executive producer Shonda Rhimes, who has famously put Meredith Grey on her hit series Grey’s Anatomy through a lot in twelve seasons. Of all the shocking twists, Wes Gibbins probably was dealt the worst card – having found out that he was conceived after his mother had been raped, he had to witness his biological father being shot in front of him. Meanwhile, Annalise has learned from Bonnie that her right-hand man Frank actually had something to do with the death of her unborn child years ago. Surely, there is a lot for fans to digest and savor as we are already anxiously anticipating season 3 of How to Get Away with Murder.

UPDATED March 4, 2016: With still a handful of episodes left in the current season of the ABC network’s multiple award-winning legal and crime drama series How to Get Away with Murder, the fans of the critically acclaimed show can breathe easy – the network announced yesterday that the series has been officially renewed for another round. The renewal announcement comes as a relief for the producing team and showrunner, because the series has delivered a significant drop in the ratings in its current installment, averaging at the moment 6.6 million viewers per episode, which is a meaningful 32% decline when compared to the sophomore season.

UPDATED June 20, 2016: Wonderful news for the fans! The highly anticipated third season of How to Get Away with Murder is scheduled to be released this fall, to air on Thursdays at 10/9c, exact premiere date to be announced later on. Many teasers for the eager fans are out in the open. The viewers are bound to find out whether there will be a love triangle involving Bonnie, Asher and Michaela after the kiss that Michaela and Asher shared in the second season finale. Additionally, in the last episode of season 2 Wes found out that Wallace Mahoney is his father, and we saw Wallace die on screen within a minute of this discovery.
