Series information and premise

Made by Destruction is a Canadian original documentary series airing on Science in the United States and on Discovery in Canada. The series is produced by yap films and executive produced by Elliott Halpern, Elizabeth Trojian and Wyatt Channell. It premiered on Science Channel on June 5, 2016, and will be launched on Discovery in Canada on July 4, 2016.

The program provides the viewers with a unique glimpse into how the simplest everyday items, which seem to have just one simple purpose, can be reused in the most amazing ways. The concept of reusing and recycling objects is crucial if we are to keep the planet alive for future generation, and there are ways for everybody to participate in this process. Made by Destruction offers us a look at the ingenious ways in which it is done on an industrial scalem which is a rarely seen process.

Ratings and possibility of renewal

The series has premiered to an audience of 305,000 viewers, and a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 adult demo. It is holding up the viewership ratings so far, actually growing to 367,000 viewers for the latest episode that aired on June 20, 2016. The first episode amazed the viewers by demonstrating how copper from discarded photocopiers is transformed into brass, and then into shaped into trumpets. There is always a niche for this sort of down-to-earth science-related shows, and this particular one is great in that it also appeals to the environmentally conscious viewer.
