Basic info and plot
NCIS: New Orleans is an American drama television series produced by Gary Glasberg, Mark Harmon, Jeffrey Lieber and James Hayman. Set and filmed in New Orleans, the series is the third member of the NCIS franchise. Set to consist of 24 episodes, season 2 of NCIS: New Orleans premiered on CBS on September 22, 2015.
Former sheriff’s deputy, Special Agent in Charge Dwayne Cassius Pride leads the New Orleans NCIS office, which handles cases from the Mississippi River to the Texas Panhandle. The small team of the New Orleans NCIS consists of Special Agents Christopher LaSalle, Meredith Brody and Sonja Percy, who all live and breath law enforcement. They specialize in solving criminal cases which involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
Although the viewer audience for season 2 of NCIS: New Orleans has declined compared to the first season, the show still averages around 13 million viewers per episode, which is quite high. If the writers manage to pack the series with as much drama as the original NCIS has, it is very possible that CBS will pick it up for another season. After all, police procedural dramas are very popular in the US. Hopefully, we will see NCIS: New Orleans air in the fall of 2016.
Season 2 recap
A 24-part sophomore season of NCIS: New Orleans concluded on the CBS channel in the US on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The finale has attracted an amazingly high audience of 13.3 million, bringing the total average viewership for the second installment to 12.98 million fans. Clearly, the early renewal decision was more than warranted in this case. This year, the show has also added another nomination to the list of its accolades: this time from the GLAAD Media Awards. The final episode was quite nerve-wrecking as the team was on the tight timeline to locate several hundred pounds of explosives and also exposed a spy that had infiltrated the team. Did you see it coming? Have you had any suspicions about Russo?
