Basic info and storyline
The Big Bang Theory is a hit American sitcom created by Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre. The award-winning show has been airing on CBS since September 24, 2007.
Set in Pasadena, California the show follows the lives of Leonard Hofstadter (played by Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons), two roommates and physicists at Caltech. Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) is a waitress and aspiring Hollywood actress who later becomes a pharmaceutical sales representative, and lives across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon. The cast is rounded out by the roommates’ socially awkward co-workers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolfowitz (played by Simon Helberg) and astrophysics Raj Koothrappali (played by Kunal Nayyar). Other characters joined The Big Bang Theory as time went on, with some having recurring roles throughout the nine seasons.
