About the show
A new American reality series, Lone Star Law premiered on Animal Planet on June 2, 2016. It is created by Andy Berg, produced by Engel Entertainment and executive produced by Lisa Lucas, Steven Engel and Ben Shank. The freshman season is slated to contain thirteen 60-minute episodes.
The show is set in Texas and follows a format similar to that of its popular sister program, North Woods Law. It chronicles the operations of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and its many game wardens as they patrol various parts of the Lone Star State and try to keep all kinds of trouble under control. The wardens have to deal with a variety of issues – intoxicated tourists, smuggling operations, illegal gill nets, poaching, oil leaks and many other problems of different degrees of gravity.
Ratings and chances of renewal
The series premiered to 801,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and decreased reasonably to 697,000, keeping the demo rating at the same level. There`s something very comforting about watching game wardens responding to a call regarding a stray snapping turtle in someone`s yard, and in general to see people whose work it is to keep the environment intact. If the success that North Woods Law is enjoying is of any indicative value, Lone Star State will also be a hit with the viewers. No mention of a renewal yet, but the show is barely a few episodes into the season, so we`ll inform you as soon as any word is heard from Animal Planet regarding the series` future.
